The New Zealand Disability Karate Association Newsletter

Autumn 2024

KIA ORA!

Welcome to the Autumn issue of the New Zealand Disability Karate Association newsletter.

First of all, apologies for this newsletter being so late.

A lot has happened since our last newsletter. We had a stand at the Armageddon Expo. There have been interviews on the radio and television. The club now has 64 members!

Sadly, Autumn and Tyler have moved to Christchurch and have had to leave the club. Let's hope they will come and see us when they next visit Wellington.

Our First Tournament

On Saturday 13th July we will have our very first tournament. Entry forms are already rolling in.

Rainbro wearing a green belt and gold medal

This will be an awesome day of karate. it will be a celebration of your achievements. We hope that everyone will feel empowered by attending the event.

There will be a chance to win a gold, silver or bronze medal. There will be a participation medal with a dazzling purple ribbon. This is in recognition of all your hard work to get ready for the tournament.

Come along and have a go!

Who has graded?

There has been two grading since our last newsletter. We have 3 new yellow belts, 9 new orange belts, and 1 new green belt.

We have 13 new club members, who are likely to grade to yellow belt before the next newsletter.

In our club there are now

  • 16 white belts (10th kyu)
  • 32 yellow belts (9th kyu)
  • 9 orange belts (8th kyu)
  • 3 green belts (7th kyu)
  • 4 blue belts (6th kyu)
